Pedestrian and cyclist safety – Small scale deliveries

Where the asset only accepts deliveries on-site from small delivery vehicles (including cars or small vans), and does not require deliveries from medium to large delivery vehicles (defined as any vehicle with an external length greater than 6 metres), then the credits can still be awarded if the following points have been met:

  1. Although the delivery vehicle can use the same access point, there should be a dedicated parking position for the delivery vehicle, and this should be separate from the regular parking spaces.
  2. Deliveries made to this asset should be infrequent, on average this should be less than three deliveries a day.
  3. The access, parking and turning areas for delivery vehicles are designed for simple manoeuvring according to the type of delivery vehicle likely to access the site, thus avoiding the need for repeated shunting.
