Erratum – GN25/48 – Use of default NCM software not mandatory

Current guidance

The assessment methodology flowchart in GN25 and GN48 shows that where a National Calculation Methodology (NCM) defines the:

  • Notional building (NC2016) or,
  • Reference building (INC V6).

The default NCM software must be used.

Correction

This is incorrect. Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM), or any NCM-compatible software with the right capabilities to assess Ene 01 can also be used to define the notional / reference building.

Where there is an NCM governing building regulations in the country of assessment, this methodology must always be used to define the notional / reference building for this issue. However, project teams can use any suitably capable modelling software to define this. They are not limited to using the default NCM software.
