BRE is committed to providing an excellent service to our valued network of assessors. To ensure a consistent level of service, BRE may subcontract the audit process to third-party organisations. Our external auditors undergo a thorough training and sign-off process identical to that undertaken by BRE internal staff, as well as continual monitoring of performance. The certification review and decision remains with BRE.
Our contracts with third parties are robust and rigorously adhered to. They include the following provisions:
- The services are performed impartially with no commercial, financial, or other factors which may compromise impartiality.
- External auditors may not disclose or permit the use of any confidential information.
- External auditors are required at all times to comply with data protection laws and all BRE’s policies, rules and procedures relating to the processing of personal data.
- External auditors’ work is quality checked in the same way as that of internal auditors.
